Stop the suffering. You can take legal action!

If you know anything about an animal being abused, whether it's a dog beaten by neighborhood kids, a cock or dog fighting ring, or an animal left out without proper shelter or food and water, report it. Call your local animal control warden, SPCA or law enforcement agency. The ASPCA has a legal department that can advise you on what else to do. The department can be reached at (212) 876-7700, ext. 4451 or by e-mail at legal@aspca.org.

"One of the most dangerous things that can happen to a child is to kill or torture an animal and get away with it." Anthropologist Margaret Mead (1964)

Get the topic out in the open. Talk to local teachers, veterinarians, and the clergy. People need to understand that this issue is important to everyone. All research indicates that people who abuse animals also abuse their spouses, their children, and others who cross their paths.

Your help at animal shelters can also make a difference. Foster an animal, donate money or supplies, hang posters.

  Teach compassion for all beings!

The love for all living creatures is the
most noble attribute of man.
~ Charles Darwin (1809-1878)
